Scar Of The Sun is a Modern Metal band from Athens, Greece, formed in the late ‘00s in London, UK. Starting out as a Modern Atmospheric Metal outfit, they progressively evolved their sound into a fresh mix of Metalcore and Djent. After the release of their first self titled demo that was nominated ‘Demo of the month’ by Metal Hammer Greece, the band released two albums, ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies’ and ‘In Flood’ through the Italian label Scarlet Records.

SOTS have worked with high profile Canadian producer Rhys Fulber (Fear Factory, Paradise Lost, Machine Head) on both albums that also feature guest appearances by M. Stanne (Dark Tranquillity), C. Antoniou (Septic Flesh), B. Katsionis (Firewind, Serious Black) and Van Labrakis (Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold). “In Flood” was mixed by S.Koliousis (Keep Of Kalessin, Kvelertak, Satan’s Wrath).

Both albums enjoyed significant success, especially the sophomore “In Flood”, that in addition to receiving raving reviews, it was also included in many “best albums of the year” lists and got extensive radio play in more than thirty countries around the world. For both albums Scar Of The Sun toured Europe and U.K. four times with bands such as Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, Rage, Moonspell, Pain, Firewind etc. The latest tour with Firewind was highly successful both in terms of fans’ reactions towards the band and financially, drawing big attention from the media, promoters and labels.

The band also filmed four official music videos, two for their first album, for the songs “Swansong Of Senses”, “Disciple Of The Sun” and two for their second album for the songs “An Ill-Fated Wonder” and “Among Waters And Giants” with acclaimed director Achilleas Gatsopoulos (Pet Shop Boys, Steven Wilson, Dark Tranquillity) and Bob Katsionis. Both the videos that were filmed for their second album were very successful, with Among Waters And Giants’ hitting more than 200.000 views in YouTube.

At the moment the band is putting the finishing touches of their third full length “Inertia” at their own Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece. The new album will be mixed by the band’s singer Terry Nikas (Septic Flesh, Suicidal Angels, Nightrage) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Kreator). This album is their heaviest and most aggressive effort to date, incorporating the most brutal vocals the band ever used. It is more than obvious that SOTS sculpted their complete own sound that has evolved tremendously in regards to their debut, without changing the unique character of the band.
